As you may have already spotted, I’ve given chrisbuxey.com a bit of a refresh. My writing blog is still front and centre, but the site is now sporting a new WordPress theme (gotta love ’em), as well as additional pages focusing on my webcomics, short stories and plays. Not to mention the new ‘Downloads’ section, which has links to my recent award-winning radio play and the audio of the writer’s workshop that I participated in back in May. Why not have a click around and see what’s new?
It’s been quite a while since I last wrote on this blog, but I’ve definitely be writing elsewhere. Baby001 is now on Episode 194, One More Wish is on Episode 46 and Winterhill, which started as a short story, is now on its way to being a full length novel. There are plenty of other things in the works too, so – at the risk of cliché – stay tuned.
I’m starting this blog as part of an exercise in encouraging myself to write more frequently. It’s likely to be fairly sparse at first, but hopefully that will encourage me to write quicker. I was going to upload an extract from my first novel Erebus, but I haven’t edited it since 2006 and revisiting it just now caused me to be a little sick in my mouth. So I think we’ll skip that one for the moment.
I’m always trying to write new novels or short stories, so I’ll share extracts and ideas here. Most of them will be in science fiction or cosmic horror genre. Some will be humorous, some will be serious. Positive or negative feedback is greatly appreciated, just so long as it’s constructive!
